Coastline Digital ("we", "us") builds websites and creates social media content for businesses in Plettenberg Bay, Knysna and the Garden Route. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

When you send our enquiry form, we collect what you type in: your name, business name, email address, phone number, the services you're interested in and your message. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't run analytics on this site.

For spam protection we keep an anonymised (one-way scrambled) version of your IP address for up to one hour. We cannot turn it back into your real IP address.

Why we use it

Only to reply to your enquiry, book a call with you and, if you become a client, to provide our services. We will not add you to a mailing list or sell or share your details for marketing.

Where it's stored and who sees it

Your enquiry is emailed to our business inbox and a backup copy is kept in a private, password-protected area of our web hosting account in case an email goes missing. Our hosting and email provider stores this data on our behalf. This website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit.

How long we keep it

Backup copies of enquiries are deleted automatically after 12 months. If you become a client, we keep the information needed to work with you for as long as you are a client and as required by law (for example, for tax records).

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email contact@coastlinedigital.co.za and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
